Mysuru District Police would like to make your visit to Mysuru as pleasant and safe as possible. You can help us further by following these simple tips while touring this Heritage City. Please follow the guidelines below: Leave valuables and important papers, passports, secured in your hotel's safe deposit box. Beware of unexpected persons coming to your hotel room. Never open the door to unsolicited room service or maintenance people. Contact the front desk if you have any doubts. If you schedule a meeting with a potential client, research the company and the individual with whom you are meeting. Meet in a public place, such as a restaurant. Make sure that luggage is only given to a member of the hotel's bell staff and a receipt is issued for stored luggage. Never leave luggage or other expensive items, unattended at Bus Stand or Railway Stations. Adequate numbers of police officers are deputed in proper uniform outside the Arrival Hall and parking area. You can contact nearest police officer to intimate about undesirable elements and touts in your observation. However, police is taking utmost care, vigilance and surveillance over these elements; still it is felt that we can eliminate these elements effectively with passenger’s active participation in the drive. In addition to above, police officers in plain clothes are also deputed to keep watch on suspicious movements. Therefore, you should never entertain the touts and unscrupulous persons to avoid harassment. Preplan your destination in Mysuru regarding your stay and tourism in Mysuru. Never take advice of local guides regarding your stay/tourism in Mysuru. Please be strict to believe the information of Police Officers, "May I help you" counter, or any other Government recognized information Centers like Karnataka Tourism.

Passport applications may be submitted at Passport Seva Kendra, situated in Post Office Metagalli, Metagalli, Mysuru,Karnataka 570020, after through verification at PSK, the Personal Particulars Form will be forwarded to District Police Office, Mysuru by online on the same day. On receiving the Passport Form at Passport Section of DSB the particulars of the individual will be uploaded in Police IT and forwarded to respective Police Station for verification, immediately a message will be sent to the applicant to contact the Police Station. The SHO of the Police Station will visit the spot; verify the records i.e. date of birth, residential proof and other relevant documents, conduct mahazar. It is mandatory that the applicant should be present at the present address, for previous address the presence of the applicant is not necessary and the verification report will be sent to Passport Section of DSB DPO through online and also hard copy. After through checking of the contents of the verification report, final report will be put-up for signature of Superintendent of Police, Mysuru District, after getting signature the soft copy will be forwarded to Regional Passport Office, Bangalure through online. For this propose the time limit is 21 days in SAKALA.
